Countdown X keeps track of dates that matter to you. You can select any date (e.g. holiday, payday, ORD, wifes birthday, due date, etc.) for countdown in an interface that allows wallpaper and quote to be configured.
You can also add a home screen widget to countdown to your favourite event.
